'She turned to look at Sebastian, lying on the bed. He was shirtless, and even in the dim light the old whip weals across his back were visible. She had always been fascinated by Shadowhunters but had never thought she would find one whose personality she could stand for more than five minutes, until Sebastian.'

'Si voltò a guardare Sebastian, sdraiato sul letto. Era a torso nudo, e anche alla luce fioca,i vecchi lividi della frusta sulla schiena,erano visibili. Era sempre stata affascinata dagli Shadowhunters, ma non aveva mai pensato che ne avrebbe trovato uno la cui personalità rendeva possibile stargli vicino per più di cinque minuti, fino a Sebastian.
